Claude over inReach is a private, personal-use messaging service operated by Tom. It lets a single user — the account owner — ask questions of an AI assistant from a Garmin inReach satellite messenger when no cellular service is available.

How it works

• The user sends a text message from their own satellite device.
• The service generates an answer and replies to that message.
• No message is ever sent except as a direct reply to an incoming message.

Consent

Consent is given by text: the user initiates every conversation from their own device. There is no signup form and no subscriber list. The service cannot message a device that has not messaged it first.

Message frequency and cost

Message frequency varies and is entirely user-driven. Message and data rates may apply. Satellite messages may also count against the user's Garmin inReach plan.

Opt-out

Reply STOP at any time to stop all messages. Reply HELP for help. Reply START to resume.

Not for emergencies

This service is not an emergency service and must not be relied on for emergency communication. Use the SOS function on your satellite device, which connects to a 24/7 emergency response coordination centre.
